Town Hall Recollection

The municipality needed to modernize its historic Town Hall on the top of Main Street in Cold Spring, NY. While the steep, squeaky, stair and lack of an elevator were the prime drivers of the project, these initial improvements ultimately led to the entire building being updated and improved inside and out. Starting from the cupola and working our way down, the building was provided with new roofing, gutters, siding, trim, windows, doors, insulation, stair, elevator, wiring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, finishes and mechanical systems. But the “crowning jewel”, the “piece de resistance” of the project would be the combined restoration and modernization of the second floor Courtroom. While the new elevator and stair bring the building up to modern code standards and compliance; the new building materials and systems will allow the building to continue carrying on its duties of serving the citizens of the Town of Philipstown for many more successful years to come.
